Clean Eating Myths to Avoid

Clean Eating Myths to Avoid

It seems that there are myths about everything in life and clean eating is no exception. Here are some Clean Eating Myths to Avoid to help you get started enjoying all the benefits that clean eating bright to your overall health.

1. You Don’t Have Time
Would your whole attitude change if you could improve your lifestyle and health through clean eating with just fifteen minutes per day?
That is all you need, around fifteen minutes. It does not take any longer to make a meal with fresh, wholesome foods that it does to serve processed foods that are filled with chemicals that your body really does not need.
Take a day or two to empty your kitchen of all toxic and processed foods. Anything that is not on your good list, you’ll need to throw away.
Now that you have cleared out your kitchen, your shopping list will be simple and won’t take you as along.

2. You need to be Gordon Ramsey
Gordon Ramsey, the chef, loves preparation but you don’t have to be a chef to prep the easiest meals to cook within 15 to 20 minutes.
Prepare as much of your food as possible, such as cutting your carrots into sticks, removes stalks from sprouts, adding portions to containers and anything else that will make cooking simple. You can do most of this in one afternoon one day a week. Then it becomes just a matter of assembly and cooking to have a meal ready in minutes. It is all in the planning and that becomes easier the more that you do it.

3. You’ll make a start soon
Just ask yourself the question. Can you commit to making small changes in your routine to live a healthier lifestyle?
You don’t have to restrict yourself to drinking kale and spinach juice every day or even counting calories. All you need to is stock healthy wholesome foods and eat those instead of processed foods. You will soon develop favorite meals and be able to enjoy fast, easy and wholesome meals daily..
The benefits of eating healthy now are that you are doing something to protect your health further down the line.

4. Putting yourself down
If you fall flat and fail seven times, get up and do it again eight times. Thinking you’ll fail because of previous failures is the wrong mindset and not good for motivation.
Stick to clean eating for at least a couple of weeks and weight yourself. You’ll find that you’ve lost weight, feel better, and that should be your motivation to move forward.

5. Will my family help me?
If you’re the person in the household that makes all the meal, then your family will have no problem supporting you and may even join you. They’ll see a difference in themselves within a couple of weeks to a month.
Keep them active. Instead of the kids sitting down playing video games after a meal, get them to join you for a little walk. Eating clean will cause them to feel motivated and get things done around the house as they enjoy the positive energy that you get from clean eating.

6. It costs too much money
If you think eating clean is expensive, then you need to take a closer look. It costs more money to buy processed food. Instead of eating the chicken carbonara processed meal that cost $6, buy all the ingredients for around $10, and you’ll find you can make four meals in total. You can serve the family meal or you can freeze a couple of meals to enjoy at a later date.By shopping with a clean eating mindset, you’ll be able to make your money go much further.

There are many more myths or negative things people think about when eating clean which simply aren’t true. You just need to make a start. Before long you will be asking yourself what took you so long to get started. And the nice thing is that you can follow the keto or paleo diet and still eat clean meals. In fact, that is one of their main goals.

Processed foods are almost entirely new to our systems, and our bodies really struggle to deal with them. Processed convenience foods that are high in sugar and saturated fats are particularly harmful, as countless studies have shown. Our over-reliance on these processed foods is directly attributable to societies growing health issues, not only in our susceptibility to disease but our growing weight problem. A diet that focuses on healthy eating removes so many of these issues in one fell swoop. For these reasons, it is hard to make an argument against clean eating like our ancestors did before there was so much processed food available.

Today’s Parting Thought: Your Health is a subject you can never know enough about. There is so much to consider that starting with a good whole food lifestyle is a great first step in a lifetime journey.

Is Daily Functional Fitness For You

Is Daily Functional Fitness For You

This is an update of an article I shared about 2 years ago. At that time I have lost a little over 50 pounds. Now it is a little over 100 pounds so I thought I would update this article and share it with those that might have missed it the first time around.

Long ago I decided that daily Functional Fitness was going to be the way for me to go if I was to exercise and stay in any kind of shape at all. I adjusted to a Ketogenic lifestyle that includes a lot more whole foods and I use functional fitness as my exercise program. As a side effect and without effort on my part other than the above, I have dropped a tad over 100 pounds that needed to go.

When I had my annual physical the doctor discovered through the blood work that I had a health issue that needed to be addressed. The pounds had to go in the fastest possible time without putting a strain on my health in general. That made it extra easy to make the changes. I have more pounds to drop (the curse of being a chef) and I plan to share with you what I do so perhaps if you want to drop a few pounds or just want to add a little Daily Functional fitness to your life, you will join me.
