Hello Fellow Travelers, I hope you are finding your journaling helpful. It is part of Setting Yourself Up for Success
Today we are going to talk about how you can be successful. Not just successful for the next few weeks, not just successful for the duration of the challenge, but truly successful for the rest of your life. Life changes are possible, but they require a little bit of planning. So let’s get your journal and get started with today’s activities.
In order to set yourself up for success, you will want to create successful habits for yourself. Some easy examples include eating light to heavy, planning your meals weekly, and making the commitment to only buy organic foods when you have the choice.
Whatever it is, as long as it is a habit that you feel will help you on your journey, that is all that matters.
Once you have completed your list, go back through each item and figure out how you can work that habit into your everyday life. For instance, it would be simple to say ‘I will go to the gym X times a week’, but if you don’t have a plan for accomplishing that, then the odds of you actually making the gym part of your weekly routine are pretty slim. It might work for a week or two and then life gets in the way. Once it becomes a habit and is part of life then you will be able to reach that goal.
One of my goals is to walk 10,000 steps per day. It does sound hard at first and to tell you the truth, it has not become a habit yet but I am continuing to work at it. To help me reach that goal I spent a little money and bought myself a Fitbit. I love it, and it has so many functions including interacting with my smartphone so that I can record what I eat and set my goals. It is honest and does tell me exactly how many steps I take daily, updating as I go along. Not everyone will want to spend money on something like this, but I needed it to keep me moving.
